In 1935, Mount Vernon Garden Club purchased the land to build a community center in Mount Vernon. After 7 years, on May 15, 1941 the community center was officially open.  In 1973, the Garden Club turned over the Community Center to the City of Mount Vernon.

Contact Mount Vernon City Hall for available dates and payments.  $200.00 must be paid in order for your event to be placed on the calendar; the remaining $100.00 can be paid at the time of booking or when the key is picked up. Your event is not booked until payment is made.

The City of Mount Vernon decorates for the Christmas season beginning the week after Thanksgiving.  

Log Cabin and Birthday House are not rented at the same time unless it is for the same event.

At this time we are not renting to any events for the ages of 13-19 and no "personal profit" events.
